Walk through the Bible Lesson 14
ESTHER
Caught in the Middle
Esther is the book that teaches you and I how to make it.
1. Know who you are
(SEE CHART 1)
Mordecai knew who he was Deuteronomy 5:7-10 7 “You shall have
no other gods before me. 8 “You shall not make for yourself an
image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth
beneath or in the waters below. 9 You shall not bow down to them
or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God,
punishing the children for the sin [don’t know themselves] of the
parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate
me, 10 but showing love to a thousand generations of those who
love me and keep my commandments. [know themselves]
2. Know people who know you
Esther 4:15-16 - 15 Then Esther sent this reply to Mordecai:
16 “Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and
fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I
and my attendants will fast as you do. When this is done, I
will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I
perish, I perish.”
3. There is always somebody waiting to kill who you are
Esther 3:8 8 Then Haman said to King Xerxes, “There is a
certain people dispersed among the peoples in all the
provinces of your kingdom who keep themselves separate.
Their customs are different from those of all other people,
and they do not obey the king’s laws; it is not in the king’s
best interest to tolerate them.
Esther 3:10 10 So the king took his signet ring from his finger
and gave it to Haman son of Hammedatha, the Agagite, the
enemy of the Jews.
Esther 8:10 10 Mordecai wrote in the name of King Xerxes,
sealed the dispatches with the king’s signet ring, and sent
them by mounted couriers, who rode fast horses especially
bred for the king.
Esther 9:10 10 the ten sons of Haman son of Hammedatha,
the enemy of the Jews. But they did not lay their hands on
the plunder.
Esther 9:24 24 For Haman son of Hammedatha, the
Agagite, the enemy of all the Jews, had plotted against the
Jews to destroy them and had cast the pur (that is, the lot)
for their ruin and destruction.
4. God delivers you when you know who you are Esther 5:2 -
When he saw Queen Esther standing in the court, he was
pleased with her and held out to her the gold scepter that
was in his hand. So Esther approached and touched the tip
of the scepter.
5. God keeps his word when you know who you are
