Title: Does Jesus Get Me? – Our Dependency
Text: John 4:6-10

1. He Had to Wait (Jesus sat down by the well, tired and thirsty)
• Jesus positioned Himself in a place of need.
• It was noon, the hottest part of the day—He was waiting, but also weary.
• Waiting is not passive—it requires trust.
• Jesus had to depend on God to supply His needs (Matthew 6:25-27).

Reflection: Have you ever been tired while waiting on God?

2. He Poured Himself Out (“If you knew the gift of God…”)
• Jesus was emptying Himself to offer life to the Samaritan woman.
• Where did Jesus get the strength to keep giving while still thirsty?
• Jesus relied on an everlasting source—Living Water (John 7:38).

Reflection: Where do you draw strength when you’ve poured yourself out?

3. He Left Full (“I have food to eat that you know nothing about.”)
• Jesus never got the drink He asked for, yet He was satisfied.
• Fulfillment came from doing the Father’s will, not just physical needs.
• True strength comes not from self-sufficiency but from dependency on God.

Reflection: Are you seeking refreshment in temporary sources or in God?

Overall Takeaways
• Jesus understands our struggles because He chose to experience them.
• Dependency on God is not weakness—it is the key to true strength.
• Like Jesus, we must trust God to sustain us, even when we are weary.
