Consistency of God
--Roman 6:23
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life
in Christ Jesus our Lord.
--Rom 5:20
20 The law was brought in so that the trespass might increase.
But where sin increased, grace increased all the more,
Davidic Reign - 2 Sam 7:8-17 - 8 “Now then, tell my servant
David, ‘This is what the LORD Almighty says: I took you from the
pasture, from tending the flock, and appointed you ruler over my
people Israel. 9 I have been with you wherever you have gone,
and I have cut off all your enemies from before you. Now I will
make your name great, like the names of the greatest men on
earth. 10 And I will provide a place for my people Israel and will
plant them so that they can have a home of their own and no
longer be disturbed. Wicked people will not oppress them
anymore, as they did at the beginning 11 and have done ever
since the time I appointed leaders[a] over my people Israel. I will
also give you rest from all your enemies.
“‘The LORD declares to you that the LORD himself will establish a
house for you: 12 When your days are over and you rest with your
ancestors, I will raise up your offspring to succeed you, your own
flesh and blood, and I will establish his kingdom. 13 He is the one
who will build a house for my Name, and I will establish the throne
of his kingdom forever. 14 I will be his father, and he will be my
son. When he does wrong, I will punish him with a rod wielded by
men, with floggings inflicted by human hands. 15 But my love will
never be taken away from him, as I took it away from Saul, whom
I removed from before you. 16 Your house and your kingdom will
endure forever before me[b]; your throne will be established
forever.’” 17 Nathan reported to David all the words of this entire
revelation.
2 Kings 8:19 Nevertheless, for the sake of his servant David, the
LORD was not willing to destroy Judah. He had promised to
maintain a lamp for David and his descendants forever.
2 Chronicles 21:7 Nevertheless, because of the covenant the
LORD had made with David, the LORD was not willing to destroy the
house of David. He had promised to maintain a lamp for him and
his descendants forever.
Luke 1:30-33 - 30 But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid,
Mary; you have found favor with God. 31 You will conceive and
give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. 32 He will be
great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God
will give him the throne of his father David, 33 and he will reign
over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.”
Psalm 89:30-37 - 30 “If his sons forsake my law and do not follow
my statutes,31 if they violate my decrees and fail to keep my
commands,32 I will punish their sin with the rod, their iniquity with
flogging; 33 but I will not take my love from him, nor will I ever
betray my faithfulness. 34 I will not violate my covenant or alter
what my lips have uttered.35 Once for all, I have sworn by my
holiness—and I will not lie to David—36 that his line will continue
forever and his throne endure before me like the sun; 37 it will be
established forever like the moon, the faithful witness in the sky.”
Acts 2:29-31 - 29 “Fellow Israelites, I can tell you confidently that
the patriarch David died and was buried, and his tomb is here to
this day. 30 But he was a prophet and knew that God had
promised him on oath that he would place one of his descendants
on his throne. 31 Seeing what was to come, he spoke of the
resurrection of the Messiah, that he was not abandoned to the
realm of the dead, nor did his body see decay.

Throne vs Temple
Jeremiah 25:9-12 - 9 I will summon all the peoples of the north
and my servant Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon,” declares the
LORD, “and I will bring them against this land and its inhabitants
and against all the surrounding nations. I will completely
destroy[a] them and make them an object of horror and scorn,
and an everlasting ruin. 10 I will banish from them the sounds of
joy and gladness, the voices of bride and bridegroom, the sound
of millstones and the light of the lamp. 11 This whole country will
become a desolate wasteland, and these nations will serve the
king of Babylon seventy years. 12 “But when the seventy years
are fulfilled, I will punish the king of Babylon and his nation, the
land of the Babylonians, for their guilt,” declares the LORD, “and
will make it desolate forever.
2 Chronicles 36:19 They set fire to God’s temple and broke down
the wall of Jerusalem; they burned all the palaces and destroyed
everything of value there
1 Cor 6:19-20 - 19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples
of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from
God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price.
Therefore honor God with your bodies
Rom 12:1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of
God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and
pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.
