Walk Through the Bible
Lesson 5 Numbers
Point 1 - #3 in the book
Learn how to count to at least two.
1 Corinthians 10:1-6
10 For I do not want you to be ignorant of the fact, brothers and sisters, that our
ancestors were all under the cloud and that they all passed through the sea. 2
They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea. 3 They all ate the
same spiritual food 4 and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the
spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ. 5 Nevertheless,
God was not pleased with most of them; their bodies were scattered in the
wilderness. 6 Now these things occurred as examples to keep us from setting our
hearts on evil things as they did.
Hebrews 3:7-11
7 So, as the Holy Spirit says: “Today, if you hear his voice, 8 do not harden your
hearts as you did in the rebellion, during the time of testing in the wilderness, 9
where your ancestors tested and tried me, though for forty years they saw what I
did. 10 That is why I was angry with that generation; I said, ‘Their hearts are
always going astray, and they have not known my ways.’11 So I declared on oath
in my anger,‘ They shall never enter my rest.’ “
[two generations, two movements – which one will you be in]
(#4 in the book)
• Two generations – ch. 1-14 and 21-36
• Two numberings – ch. 1-4; 26-27
• Two Journeyings – ch. 10-4 & 21-27
• Two Instructions – ch. 5-9; 28-36
Point 2: Count your offering - Mark 12:41-44
41 Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched
the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in
large amounts. 42 But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins,
worth only a few cents.
43 Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put
more into the treasury than all the others. 44 They all gave out of their wealth; but
she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.”
Point 3: Start Finish Line - #8 n the book
2 Peter 2:15
15 They have left the straight way and wandered off to follow the way of Balaam
son of Bezer,[a] who loved the wages of wickedness.
Jude 11 Woe to them! They have taken the way of Cain; they have rushed
for profit into Balaam’s error; they have been destroyed in Korah’s rebellion.
Revelation 2:14 - 14 Nevertheless, I have a few things against you: There
are some among you who hold to the teaching of Balaam, who taught
Balak to entice the Israelites to sin so that they ate food sacrificed to idols
and committed sexual immorality.
