1. **Simon Peter**: Tradition holds that he was crucified upside
down in Rome under Emperor Nero's persecution, as he believed
himself unworthy to die in the same manner as Jesus.
2. **Andrew**: He preached in Asia Minor and Greece. Tradition
suggests he was crucified on an X-shaped cross in Patras,
Greece.
3. **James, son of Zebedee**: He was the first apostle to be
martyred, likely around AD 44 by King Herod Agrippa I. He was
beheaded.
4. **John**: Tradition holds that he lived to old age, dying around
AD 100 in Ephesus, modern-day Turkey, although he reportedly
faced persecution and exile.
5. **Philip**: He preached in Greece and Asia Minor. Tradition
suggests he was martyred in Hierapolis, Phrygia, by hanging.
6. **Bartholomew (Nathanael)**: Accounts vary, but tradition
suggests he preached in India and Armenia before being flayed
alive and then either crucified or beheaded.
7. **Thomas**: He is believed to have preached in India, where

Davar, Persia.

10. **Thaddaeus (Jude)**: He is believed to have preached in
Mesopotamia and Persia before being martyred, though accounts
of his death vary.
11. **Simon the Zealot**: Little is known about his later life. Some
traditions suggest he preached in Egypt or Persia and was
martyred, but details are unclear.
12. **Judas Iscariot**: He infamously betrayed Jesus and later
died by hanging himself.
