Chosen Paternity Suit

John 15: 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and

appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will

last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will

give you. And we add 1 Cor. 6: 20 you were bought at a price.

Therefore honor God with your bodies.

1. **Simon Peter**: Tradition holds that he was crucified upside

down in Rome under Emperor Nero's persecution, as he believed

himself unworthy to die in the same manner as Jesus.

2. **Andrew**: He preached in Asia Minor and Greece. Tradition

suggests he was crucified on an X-shaped cross in Patras,

Greece.

3. **James, son of Zebedee**: He was the first apostle to be

martyred, likely around AD 44 by King Herod Agrippa I. He was

beheaded.

4. **John**: Tradition holds that he lived to old age, dying around

AD 100 in Ephesus, modern-day Turkey, although he reportedly

faced persecution and exile.

5. **Philip**: He preached in Greece and Asia Minor. Tradition

suggests he was martyred in Hierapolis, Phrygia, by hanging.

6. **Bartholomew (Nathanael)**: Accounts vary, but tradition

suggests he preached in India and Armenia before being flayed

alive and then either crucified or beheaded.

7. **Thomas**: He is believed to have preached in India, where

he was martyred by spearing or stabbing.

8. **Matthew (Levi)**: Tradition holds that he preached in Ethiopia

and then was martyred by either beheading or stabbing in Nad-

Davar, Persia.

9. **James, son of Alphaeus**: Details about him are limited.

Tradition suggests he may have been stoned to death or martyred

in some other way.

10. **Thaddaeus (Jude)**: He is believed to have preached in

Mesopotamia and Persia before being martyred, though accounts

of his death vary.

11. **Simon the Zealot**: Little is known about his later life. Some

traditions suggest he preached in Egypt or Persia and was

martyred, but details are unclear.

12. **Judas Iscariot**: He infamously betrayed Jesus and later

died by hanging himself.

Matthew 16: 24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants

to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross

and follow me.

Point 1: Picked Over Ps. 139: 14 I praise you because I am

fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know

that full well.

Rev 22: 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last,

the Beginning and the End.

Isa 46: 10 I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient

times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will

do all that I please.’

Rom 8: 29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be

conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn

among many brothers and sisters.

Point 2: Picked for – Eph. 2: 10 For we are God’s handiwork,

created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in

advance for us to do.

Point 3: Picked from – 1 Cor. 6: 20 you were bought at a price.

Therefore honor God with your bodies.
